Michel is an experienced Human Resources Specialist having worked in the SADC Region for the past twelve year’s.
Her passion lies in Leadership more so, the development of Women Leaders. She holds a Master’s degree in Business Leadership with the University of South Africa School of Business Leadership. As a result of her passion in advocating for women's rights Michel was appointed to be a Global Champion for Women’s Economic Empowerment from 2015 to 2016 under the UN Women Empower Women Programme. In this position she took part in the six month long campaign #breaktheglass. Michel is a mentor and intends to further her studies. She hopes to contribute academically as well as in practice and assist in pushing for policy reforms. Michel is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Business leadership, her Research Topic seeks to address the challenges faced by women in the Public, Corporate and Developmental Sectors in Southern Africa, using Intersectionality as a framework.
In her spare time, Michel together with her sisters and friends run an initiative called She Builds Africa which seeks to empower disadvantaged teenage girls through mentorship, sponsorship and menstrual hygiene management.
